Besançon

Created in 1979 and a social centre since 1995, the MJC Palente is a major player in the neighbourhood policy of the city of Besançon.
An association of Popular Education and Social and Solidarity Economy, it acts in a priority district of the city of 12,000 inhabitants as well as in the communes of the East of Besançon.
The MJC Palente is an intergenerational and multi-social structure of general collective interest. It evolves with its territory and its public thanks to its commitment to consultation with residents, members, employees, volunteers and partners. It works for well-being and living well together, its strength lies in the implementation of federative projects with the involvement of all institutional actors, and in its commitment to social innovation.

It is made up of three centres, an Educational and Leisure Centre, a Cultural Centre and a Social Centre. Together, they build responses to the needs of the users and inhabitants of the district, always in accordance with the defined associative project.
With its 3000 members, the MJC Palente takes you to discover its music school, its varied dance practices, its choirs, its programme of shows for young people and its children’s book festival. You can also discover numerous sports and artistic activities for all ages.
The MJC Palente is also involved in health issues with the city of Besançon and has an educational kitchen to share with as many people as possible.

Finally, a hundred or so volunteers, without whom it would not be able to function, work to support the inhabitants in the context of schooling support, sociolinguistic workshops, duty offices for access to rights and a shared garden located in the heart of the district.
